How your money helps

Jeans for Genes provides funding for the care and support of children with genetic disorders. We also help to fund research into genetics and the development of effective treatments and cures. Each year we offer funding to a range of charities.

Genetic disorders

Genetic disorders are caused by an alteration in DNA. This may mean that either a gene or several genes are missing, repeated or in the wrong order. Altered genes can affect a child’s senses, movement, ability to learn or appearance. Read about some of the different types of genetic disorders that affect children

Educational resources for schools

It’s our mission to raise awareness and promote understanding of what it means to be affected by a genetic disorder. One of the ways we do this is by offering free educational resources to schools. Visit www.jeansforgenes.com/schools to see our range of films and classroom activities.

Grant programme

Jeans for Genes’ grant programme is open to registered UK charities working to support children and families affected by genetic disorders.  Find out more about the application process for funding from the 2011 Jeans for Genes campaign.
